A few local terms first. Official statistics measure completions as floor area in square meters that has been formally put into use, so a "commissioned" building is one the authorities have accepted as finished. The khokimiyat is the city administration. The primary market means new builds sold by developers, often while the building is still going up; the secondary market is resale. OLX and uybor are the two classifieds sites UyScan collects listings from.
How much housing did Uzbekistan complete in 2025?
15.9 million m² nationwide, 7.2% (gazeta.uz, 27 Sep 2026) more than in 2024. The Central Bank gives this figure in its real estate market review for 2025.
It is floor area, not a count of apartments, and the published summary of the review does not say how much of it went into apartment blocks rather than private houses. Deals, prices and mortgages for the same year are collected in our overview of Uzbekistan's housing market in 2026.
How much is being built in 2026?
The country completed 3.3 million m² (gazeta.uz, 27 Sep 2026) of housing in Q1 2026, 6.6% (gazeta.uz, 27 Sep 2026) more than a year earlier. The volume of construction work grew faster, by 15.5% (gazeta.uz, 27 Sep 2026), and at the end of March about 2,900 (gazeta.uz, 27 Sep 2026) apartment building projects were under construction.
These projects are what will be completed over the next few years. First-half figures for the country and a regional breakdown have also appeared in the press, but the news report that carried them labels them as individual housing, and we could not find them in the National Statistics Committee's publications. So there are no regions in this article yet: we will add them once we have checked them against the primary source.

How many buildings does Tashkent complete?
In the first half of 2026 the capital commissioned 151 apartment buildings with 11,270 apartments in them, according to the khokimiyat. That works out to about 75 apartments per building.
Over the same six months the city carried out 61.2 trillion soums (yuz.uz, 27 Sep 2026) of construction and contracting work, 9.9% (yuz.uz, 27 Sep 2026) more than a year earlier. That covers all construction in the city, not only housing.
For scale: as of 28 September 2026, UyScan listings show 13,877 apartments for sale in new builds. These are not the apartments the city commissioned. Listings include buildings that are still under construction and resales in finished ones, and a developer can also sell without listing on OLX or uybor at all. The khokimiyat also counts all of Tashkent, whereas we cover 11 districts without Yangihayot.
How do completions show up in Tashkent listings?
New builds make up 48% of apartment sale listings in Tashkent: 13,877 apartments out of 28,842. Their share is highest in Yakkasaray (67%) and lowest in Chilanzar (16%).

Share and volume are different things. The most new-build apartments are for sale in Yakkasaray: 2,320 apartments, while new builds account for 67% of all listings in that district. A listing card rarely tells you whether the building is finished. The year built field is filled in on only 29% (UyScan data as of 26 Sep 2026, listings: 13,829) of new-build listings. The most common value there is 2025, at 38% (UyScan data as of 26 Sep 2026, listings: 4,026), but across the whole database no listing gives a year later than 2025. Some of these listings promise keys and cadastre registration (the entry in the state property register) in 2026–2027, so "2025" on the card does not mean the building has been handed over. Will all this new housing push prices down?
Not so far. By the National Statistics Committee index, in Q2 2026 new-build prices nationwide were up 7.1% (spot.uz, 27 Sep 2026) year on year and resale prices 4.2% (spot.uz, 27 Sep 2026).

- Completions: Central Bank reviews for 2025 and Q1 2026 as reported by Gazeta.uz, Tashkent khokimiyat data as reported by Yuz.uz, and the National Statistics Committee price index as reported by Spot. We leave out first-half 2026 completions for the country and by region until we have checked them with the statistics committee.
- UyScan: active OLX and uybor sale listings as of 28 Sep 2026, with copies of the same apartment merged, 11 districts of Tashkent without Yangihayot. These are asking prices, not transaction prices.
- New build: the listing's market is set to new build or primary market. The year built comes from the OLX listing field; uybor has no such field.
